Creative Outlets

Well, I'm hooked on the design challenge from Mojo Monday. I made a nice card in a traditional style but I couldn't get the color to photograph well. It looked faded. Finally, I just decided to start over. I love the 'petroglyph' stamps I purchased this summer at the Fremont Indian Park a few miles from Richfield Utah. (by Rubber Poet - Rockville, Utah). They always make great cards. So the adventure began - to create a card for the Mojo contest - one that would be nice but different. Hundreds of people submit cards so the challenge is on.

I made one but then decided I didn't like the angle of the pictures.

I made a second which is my personal favorite (shown in side bar) but I didn't actually use the papers as in the design challenge instead, I faded around the area to make a place for the images.
Oh well, I'll try a third. Wow! I loved the way the paper tore and gave a nice border to highlight the images. With three choices it's hard to decide.

So-o sometime after the clock struck 12:00, I decided to use some of the 'left overs' from earlier in the day and make, you guessed it - a fourth card. Well, needless to say there should be more men in my card giving circle. Presently, I've got my husband covered until the year 1013!

Enjoy the pictures. Which one will I enter in the Mojo contest? ----- I haven't decided yet. What's your favorite? Oh, by the way, after I photographed the 'petroglyph' cards, I decided to take another picture of the original card (the real #1). The color turned out much better. Oh
well, I had a great day just making cards and being energized by the creative flow. Now all I have to do is locate "Mr Linky" to submit my final choice. Wish me luck!

I gave my life a good look a while back and just felt something good was missing. Finally decided that I haven't had any creative outlets for some time. I immediaely put matters into an 'active mode'. Decided that I needed to make room in my office for a new desk so that I would have a place to work. Lonnie and a friend helped move the current furniture around so that I had a new empty area where a desk would fit. Next, I went online to Craig's list and miracle of miracles or should I call it a tender blessing? I found a nearly new desk with a matching file cabinet. It was just the right size and just the right price. So we trucked over to Beaverton and picked it up. (Picking it 'up' was the hard part!)

Anyway, I set up shop, spent the next little time 'collecting' tools, and now I'm in the cardmaking mode. I throughly enjoy every minute. Sad part is that I give away my creations especially the best ones. I kind of miss them! Once I hit on a good design, I'd like to perhaps make a few more before I move on. Or keep the idea for future cards. I've decided the solution is to photograph them.

If you like to make cards, let me know because I've found some sites with beautiful cards, wonderful stamps and incredible creative ideas. These sites have really 'stepped up' the look of my cards. I'm producing nicer ones all the time.

Bottom line is that having a creative outlet just makes all of life look and feel better. I hope you have some kind of creative outlet that improves your outlook too.
