Christmas Oats

We're having a Christmas Social with friends. I'm wrapping a small bag of oats for a white elephant gift. I couldn't find a poem that I like for reindeer oats so I wrote a new one this morning.

CHRISTMAS OATS
Here comes Santa Claus, bringing wonder and joy,
How did he get here, to deliver your toy?
Why, the reindeer brought him, they work the night through,
To make sure a special gift, gets delivered for you.
Santa gets cookies, and milk for a treat,
Here’s some Christmas Oats, for the reindeer to eat.
Put them outdoors, on Christmas Eve night,
The reindeer will eat them, then take to their flight.
As they fly through the air, you may hear as they cheer,
“Thanks for the oats, we’ll be back next year!”
Mix oatmeal and candy sprinkles to make a bag of Christmas oats for the children to put out Christmas Eve night. Glitter looks real pretty mixed in but is not good for the birds who might eat any the reindeer leave. Place it in a zip lock bag and attach the poem.

  1. Looks like you had fun with the oats. I love to see the snow there. And it looks like there was a nativity activity for the kids. That's great. love you. -Sheri
